Daniel Polsky

Daniel Polsky is a second-year medical student at the University of Maryland School of Medicine and co-founder of MedSchool Mentors. He works closely with pre-medical students throughout the entire application process, emphasizing early preparation, strategy, and authenticity. As an official interviewer for the University of Maryland School of Medicine admissions committee, Daniel has directly participated in applicant interviews and admissions recommendations, giving him a current and practical understanding of how admissions decisions are made.
Lizzie Nguyen
M1, University of Maryland School of Medicine
Elizabeth (Lizzie) Nguyen (she/her) is a first-year medical student at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. She graduated from James Madison University in 2024 with a degree in Kinesiology and a concentration in Exercise Science. As the first in her family to pursue medical school, Lizzie navigated the application process largely independently and hopes to make the path more accessible for other students. She has extensive mentoring and tutoring experience, including roles as a K–8 math and reading instructor and a tutor for NCAA student-athletes. Outside of school, she enjoys reading, wellness podcasts, Pinterest, and Philadelphia sports.
Hannah Blevins
M1, University of Maryland School of Medicine
Hannah was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland. She attended the University of South Carolina, where she majored in Biology with minors in Chemistry and Psychology. She returned to Maryland for medical school and is currently a first-year medical student at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. As a first-generation student, she understands how intimidating the application process can be and is excited to be part of MedSchool Mentors to share key advice with applicants.
Tushar Bali

Tushar is currently a first-year medical student at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. After a grueling pre-med journey, application cycle, and interview process, Tushar wants to empower his students with a confidence he’s since built to become the authors of their own application cycle; he hopes to resonate with students about the difficulty of traveling along the medical path and wants to be a confidant that they can be themselves with. Tushar likes to spend his time finding new vinyl records to listen to, lifting weights, thrifting for new clothes, and enjoying his time with friends and family. He’s also best friends with his golden retriever!
Nalia Abney

Nalia is a first-year medical student at the University of Maryland School of Medicine with a B.A. in neuroscience and psychology from Boston University. She is exploring interests in several surgical fields, including otorhinolaryngology and plastic surgery. Nalia is passionate about working with other aspiring doctors to increase recruitment and retention within the field of medicine. She is especially passionate about curating a school list that matches who you are as an applicant and aligns with your goals as a future physician.
Dev Josyabhatia

Dev is a first-year medical student (M1) at the University of Maryland. He grew up in Fort Lauderdale and completed his undergraduate studies in biomedical engineering at the University of Michigan. In his free time, he enjoys watching football, playing squash, and learning obscure historical facts that occasionally prove useful in bar trivia. He finds mentoring most rewarding when he can observe his mentees grow in confidence and achieve their goals.
